Rights & Credits
A credible creative record distinguishes what you contributed, what you can authorise and what others may use. These rules apply to Academy collaboration and archive publication.

Background materials
Identify pre-existing scripts, footage, designs, music, recordings, software, models, workflows, characters and story worlds before they enter a shared production. Keep their rights, licences, source notes and restrictions attached to the relevant version. A contributor can grant only permissions they hold or are authorised to grant.
New collaborative work
Before substantive production, record each contributor’s role, expected deliverables, decision authority and treatment of newly created work. Specify ownership or licence arrangements, territorial and media scope, duration, exclusivity, commercial use, derivatives, expenses and any revenue allocation in the applicable agreement. The Academy archive records contributions; it does not invent an ownership percentage from hours or attendance.
Names, likenesses and voices
Obtain permission appropriate to the intended depiction, synthesis, performance, publication and reuse. Participation in a course does not authorise cloning a person’s voice or likeness. Keep the permitted purpose, versions, recipients, duration and any withdrawal or termination conditions identifiable. Do not describe a proposed guest as a confirmed collaborator or imply endorsement without agreement.
AI and workflow provenance
Record the principal tools, versions where known, source material and meaningful human decisions. Preserve material limitations and unresolved permissions. A model licence, watermark, content credential or INDEX identifier is one part of the evidence; it does not settle every copyright, privacy, contractual or personality-rights question. Review the conditions of the actual use and destination.
Review, publication and commercial use
Materials shared for admission or confidential assessment remain limited to that purpose. Public screening, portfolio use, promotional excerpts, distribution, commercial licensing, dataset inclusion and model training are separate uses that need an appropriate basis and recorded scope. An empty or unchecked optional permission is not consent.
Credits and experience records
A contribution record identifies the person, topic, role, dated evidence, reviewed scope and relevant outcome. Attendance alone does not establish authorship. Human decisions and agent/tool operations are distinguished. Reviewers check the evidence and disclose relevant conflicts. The participant can request correction before or after publication; other contributors may raise a substantiated credit concern.
INDEX association
Use the existing official INDEX identifier for an asset. Confirm the relevant asset version, contribution, authority and public source before marking its association as verified. The Academy does not issue a second INDEX record merely because an asset was created during a course. Changes to source status or a justified dispute may lead to reassessment of the association.
Disputes and restricted material
Notify Support with the specific record, disputed statement and proportionate evidence. We can limit disclosure while investigating, give affected parties an opportunity to respond, and record a correction, superseding version or revocation with reasons. Private contracts or personal information should be supplied only through the approved restricted channel and only to the extent needed.
